21 New Sainik Schools to be opened across the country:

The Defense Ministry on Saturday approved the opening of 21 new Sainik Schools. These will be set up in partnership with NGOs, private schools and state governments. These schools will start from class 6th onwards. The government will open 79 more such Sainik Schools across the country in partnership mode. These will be ready in partnership mode in 21 states including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, Ministry of Defense approved

According to the press note issued by the Ministry of Defense, these new schools will be different from the existing Sainik Schools. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal behind opening these 100 schools is to provide quality education under the National Education Policy to the students and better career opportunities including joining the army.

Contribution of private sector also
The government believes that with this step, preparations will be made to make today’s youth responsible citizens of tomorrow. Along with this, private sectors will get an opportunity to work with the government in the direction of nation building.

Will work under Sainik School Society
These new Sainik Schools, apart from the affiliation of the respective education boards, will work within the purview of the Sainik School Society and will also follow the rules laid down by the society.

Schools will be opened in these states
These 21 schools are Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh , will be opened in Uttarakhand.
